PHYS ED: World Records

Had a lecture the other day about working for independent schools in WA. Was great to hear advice and ‘lessons learnt’ from a teacher currently in the business. Also got a couple great ideas for lesson activities. One of which was to make use of World Records in Phys Ed lessons(or Guinness World Records in Health Lessons – though having said that they have removed their ‘gluttony’ records few years ago so those crazy gross food records are from years gone by). For example – Use Olympic World Records to introduce athletics lessons (ie. long jump record when learning long jump or high jump record when learning high jump). Great way to engage student interest. Can garantee it’ll strick a bit of interest within a couple of students enough for them to check out a few more records on the internett.
